*Virginia Studies Binders - Your child needs a 3-inch, 3-ring binder to support all of the notes throughout the year. Binders are to be kept neat and carefully transported to and from school daily (when we are in social studies units). Note: Students will also need dividers to separate unit notes within their binders. Help your child build his or her binder by numbering the units in reverse order (VS.10, VS.9....VS.2). This will help your child toward the end of the year so he or she does not have to flip so many pages over to get to the new material. Binders need to include a 3-ring, zippered supply pouch that can be fastened into your student's binder. Supply pouches should contain basic supplies on a daily basis so that your child comes to class prepared: 2-3 sharpened pencils, erasers, glue sticks or bottle, 2 highlighters, sharpened color pencils and Post-it notes.
